My Wife - Can't Believe What She Did! The Miracle Worker!

I just experienced one of the most fascinating moments, an experience I had ever been exposed to, with my wife!


My lovely wife Maddie asked me if I wanted to go grocery shopping with her? Now, we usually go together, however; this shopping trip was not part of our normal, scheduled, weekly shopping venture! She called it "Power Shopping."


Now, as most of you guys may react to this type of remark, especially, when it's coming from your own spouse, I was a bit confused, nervous and very much apprehensive in taking her up on her invitation to "Power Shop!" That sounded to me like spending lots of money in a very short time. My interpretation of "Power Shopping!"


Finally, after weighing in my options, I opted to go on this "Power Shopping" experience! Little did I know, what was in stored for me. The results of this experience should get your attention, especially, in today's economy!


We arrived at our local Super-Market and proceeded down the isles, picking and selecting items, as we usually do. The one thing that was different about this shopping event, was that we were pushing two carts. We were making the usual selections, as we walked down the isles, when suddenly, my dearest turns to me and said: "Now, lets get these other items;" as she pulled a list from inside of her bag. Attached to the list were some coupons she had printed from some websites, she was asked to visit earlier in the week, by one of her co-workers. When we finally finished picking and selecting the items on her list, item by item off the shelves, our second cart was almost over-flowing with items and stuff she picked out (in this case grocery-food items and some paper items).


What caught my attention and impressed me the most, was that Maddie had coupons from such well known manufacturers as "Betty Crocker," "Pillsbury," General Mills Foods and numerous other coupon offers.


Here's what was really amazing about this!


After we had checked out and had the chance to look at the list of items we had selected, I was blowned away by the fact that we only had spent $19.00 and change, for a cart full of groceries and some paper products!


Calculating, based on the price tags of the items, the actual bill for these items totalled to $197.00 plus change! Now, I had never been in a grocery store and done that, even in the days when we had coupon books in the house! Can you believe that? Our grocery bill came to a whooping total of $19.00 and some change!


Now, you need to understand that for a family of six, normally, our grocery bill averages somewhere between $200 - $250 per week, that amount, depending on whether or not we're entertaining guests; if guests are on the itinerary for the week, it may jump up by a couple of hundred dollars more! Why is that? Well, only because my wife is a pretty good Chef, and; I also like to pretend I am a Chef while working in the kitchen. Together, we create some amazing pieces of delectable, masterful, delightful, finger licking, well you get the picture; good food! You be surprise to know that Maddie is also and Ice Skating double gold medalist, United Sates and Canada; but that's content for another article! Let me get back to the experience during this grocery run, our "Power Shopping" experience!


I was blowned away by the smart way Maddie applied herself and the coupons (her friend had suggested for her to get), on this particular day! I know, you're probably wondering what or why is this guy talking about grocery coupons, when he's a successful Netpreneur? Well, let me tell you how this is all connected!


Not long ago, my wife was challenged to do this grocery "Power Shopping." She too, was very skeptical about the final outcome and success of this "Power Shopping" experience. We have used coupons while shopping before, however; never, in such a sequence, that would cause such drastic savings, and; would cause the store to give us money back, at the check-out counter, on our way out, via a store coupon! Blows my mind to see this happen! But, you should know, it is perfectly legal, and something that not many people practice!


So, to make a long story short and not to bore you with our family's shopping dynamics, I'll just cut to the chase and get to the well expected; "Bottom Line," as to why I am sharing this with you!


Maddie was merely proving to her friend (the challenger), that we are just as human, as the next person! We are fully capable of definitely spotting a bargain, a sale, a good pitch, just as much as the next person can! So, she took on the challenge of "Power Shopping" and then comparing the savings with her co-worker to determine who made out with the best deal.
